At this point, he wasn't exactly sure what he was doing yet at the same time Ze was aware... his decisions thus far wasn't his brightest. Zephyr admitted that his belief in things such as density or fate was lacking, but its a different story with chances. Chances were always something he, well, never took part of- presented with comfortable or something new, it was always the former over the latter, comfort over excitement.
And that wasn't a way to live. After seeing Alex at Park, five years later, different and well, he couldn't think a word but it wasn't miserable yet wasn't happy. At least, he wasn't happy or thrill to see the brunette. Either way, it got him thinking- five years has past, both were clearly leading different lives yet... out of the two, Zephyr was pretty sure he wasn't the one who lucked out of the deal. What did he land himself, cutting off one of the best friendships he had while a child? "Friends" that he truly wasn't friends with, parents who spend most of their time away from home and himself, still a wuss who rather kicked the dirt than speak up. He didn't change, maybe he didn't know how. But maybe... it wasn't too late? Tiniest of attempts, passing notes and calling Alex to sit by him, yet anything was way better than nothing.
Was it sad to saw, as he nervously picked at his nail, there was a bit of reckless excitement? Sure, passing notes, nothing to lose an arm over but... with the fact he could feel Reiner's eyes burning holes into the back of his head, and this wasn't something the guy would keep to himself. Alex wasn't as careful with passing the note back, and if Reiner wasn't glancing their way now, that probably caught his attention. Fe bet if he turned right around right now, he'll catch the blue-eyed friend staring right him.
Ah... can't be too disappointed. The words 'Go Away' sent the message as clear as day that the blond was still bitter with him. Understandable, since he was betting that. And it would be smart to leave the poor guy alone, since he was probably pestering. It would be smart but... Zephyr didn't want to just walk away too easily. The teacher hasn't caught him, and there was a bet his friends saw, but to be honest? Zephyr was lacking the usual panicky anxiety of what his friends would be thinking.
'Can't really. Since its class and all. So how are you? '
He flicked it back, returning to his lip nibbling. It would be amazing if he could try and win him over before the class ended, but the chances of pigs flying were more likely than that. Though, baby steps. Tiny, tiny baby steps, but they were steps all the same.
