He always been the quiet type through and through. Not a pure introvert, but Ze tensed when spot light landed on him. Even most people would never guessed that off the first glance how... everything was forced. How the polished grin, wasn't out of cheer, eyes lighting up with interest was something more honed over the years and the faint downturn of his lips, invisible frown he made when his friends started their mission of being the textbook bullies.
He just wanted to state now: while surrounded by the laughing entourage of your stereotypically prep kids, with a closed smile to pulled his "Of course I was listening to you rag on a couple of girls that you don't really know nor take account their feelings bro" face- he didn't want to be here. Rather, there was his console system waiting for him, a warmed spot on his bed and junk food waiting to chowed on. It was a surprised, dusting off the crumbs of his greasy sandwich, he wasn't a big ball of fat. Well... yet. Eating his way to a slow death, his girlfriend commented on the habit.
Ah, and to his girlfriend. He should be calling her an ex soon; she was a lovely girl, light brown hair and eyes a kaleidoscope of colors, Sydney was a keeper- at least what he been told. But just like he been in thoughts of why for a lot of things, she wasn't something he wanted to keep. There would probably be whines from Austin, a currently best friend- a guy who head was bloated with ego and a interest in the girl, but as leader of this onslaught of borderline sexist things spewing from his friends mouths, he wouldn't be surprised sooner or later he'll go after her. Why? Shit if he knew.
Maybe all this "meh, this isn't me, my friends suck and I'm unhappy" train was rooted in those pictures he saw. Digging through the old photo, a picture of a younger him and a kid with blond hair braided, there was some nostalgia hitting him. One over the other's lap, absorbed at the game at hand as smiles were childlike and genuine. Alex. He haven't thought about him since....
Well.... that last time.
There wasn't that clicked in him. Made the lightheartedness that he known himself for was gone, replaced this ill feelings. And thoughts that wouldn't let him be. Did he change at all? Or was he like Ze? Awkwardly tall, braces, with hair that curled without any respect to combs with bowing down and just.... felt out of place. What school was he going? And fingers crossed with bumping into him again- while there been the rare glimpse but...
Ze wondered if a soft pitter of the heart was from the childhood memories or the happy warmth of Alex he remember. "-- Ze? Zeeee, c'mon- look that girl? Blond hair, and all; don't you love those blondies?" There was an evil titter between all, and he rolled his eyes, "Bet you won't mind if I stroll up to her to chat though, right? Afterall- you have your girlfriend~" Ze gave a shrug, jutting a thumb at the blond with a back turned and face hidden from his group of un-mature friends.
" First, you're an idiot for trying that because out of your league, she is~" A smirk followed, though he did the best without showing much teeth, "Second. Shut up; I don't have a type, just as long--"
"Make you laugh and ain't some party girl, you goody two shoes, I know. C'mon- long blond hair, and firm looking ass? How can you not....?" But then a thought dawned. "Maybe I should call her over?" A collected 'Yes' with the stray 'no'- Austin got on feet before he could be pinned back and instead, Ze felt himself restrained as the excited 15 year old shouted from across with a wicked grin. "Hey, Blond~ My friend Ze would love to have a chat with youuuuu~"
Mmm. Yeah, new friends wouldn't be so bad.
